Nurturing the growth of an independent Schumacher College and cultivating a thriving global network of initiatives rooted in the Schumacher legacy.
FUNDRAISER IS NOW LIVE!

The Satish Kumar Foundation has been created to support an independent Schumacher College as part of a global network of like-minded organizations dedicated to transformative change.
As a new entity, the Satish Kumar Foundation (SKF) encompasses the Schumacher Worldwide Network, including Schumacher College. Our aim is to continue the legacy of Satish Kumar´s work and the innovative educational spirit of Schumacher College around the world.
SKF is a worldwide network of ecological and regenerative educational centers, sustainability projects, and radical practitioners committed to a sustainable, equitable, and thriving future for all species. We are a global movement acting in service of a world in need of alternative radical visions and action.
What we do

Our Current Campaign:
On 27th August 2024, Dartington Hall Trust made the decision to close all programmes at Schumacher College with immediate effect due to continued financial difficulties on the estate. The Schumacher community is now working to gain financial independence to continue the pioneering work of this internationally renowned college.
Our vision is a reborn, independent, Schumacher College. To make that happen we are raising £8 million to secure a permanent new home for the college. We will also create an endowment fund to ensure financial security for Schumacher College and the network that carries on its teachings and ethos around the world..
A beacon of regenerative learning, Schumacher College has inspired a global community of people ready to stand up for social justice and our precious planet. Hundreds of regenerative social enterprises and innovative practices have been established by alumni over the years, with some taking up significant political roles, such as advising Barack Obama on environmental matters or leading climate negotiations at the UN. The college has also given rise to partner organisations across the globe including in Brazil, Colombia, Belgium, Ireland, India, China, Spain and France.
Right now, our world needs this sort of learning and action more than ever. Institutions like Schumacher College play a vital role in advancing the education that meets the challenges and opportunities humankind collectively faces - responding to the needs of our time and those of future generations.
